The Real Me

with one comment

As a product of 1985 I grew up with plenty of Megan’s and have just recently began to enjoy my name again.  It is easy for a name to loose some power and meaning when everyone surrounding you has it as well.  I have a brother just a year younger than me named Rhys, and a little sister ten years younger than me named Dori.  And I got stuck with Megan.  When I was real little I wanted desperately to become a paleontologist/ a writer of mystery novels.  Apparently neither of those careers were in the cards for me, but a girl can certainly dream.  I am going to be a teacher of the arts in about three years if all goes as planned.  It’s a five year program so it is beginnign to be a task to see the light at the end of this educational tunnel.  I love to try new things that can add to the quality of my life all the time.  However some of my favorites include; music, singing, snowboarding, writing, painting, theatre and my most favorite scary movies- the watching of them that is.  Something a little bit interesting about me is that I was most defiantly born in the wrong time.  I just set up my first email address two years ago because I HAD TO- for university of course.  I like to hand write my friends letters that are far away from me because they have such a personal touch to them.  I also got my first cell phone about two years ago due to the fact that I was going to be commuting a lot to get to and from university.  In other words I am a Luddite and hope that this class will make me feel a lot more comfortable with the technical world that surrounds me.

  1. Megan,

Just keep in mind that the technology was invented to serve humanity. There are plenty of ways that the arts intersect with technology, but it is certainly not a requirement. Just keep an open mind and apply it as you see fit.

By the way, not many Luddites I know run weblogs!
